Bladeless LASIK

What Is Bladeless LASIK?

Most people would be surprised to know that traditional LASIK is only partly performed by a laser. The first step, creating a cornea flap, actually requires a blade. This is then followed by the reshaping of the eye with an Excimer laser. In 2002, Dr. Joseph Dello Russo took another step forward in laser vision correction, introducing Bladeless LASIK to his patients. As its name suggests, Bladeless LASIK is LASIK without a blade.

With Bladeless LASIK, Drs. Dello Russo offer the safest and most advanced vision correction. Instead of using a blade during the first part of LASIK surgery, they utilize the IntraLase® laser to create the cornea flap. With Bladeless LASIK, our patients benefit from the following:

  • Better control for the surgeon
  • More precision in measurements
  • Less chance of adverse effects that may be caused by a blade

Bladeless LASIK is also known as IntraLase®, iLASIK, and All-laser LASIK. It has become the standard of LASIK in the United States today. For more details on Bladeless LASIK, please click here to schedule a complimentary consultation at Dello Russo LaserVision today.
